The Humane Society for Greater Nashua, located in southern New Hampshire is looking for a Veterinarian who is passionate about Shelter Medicine. The Veterinarian is responsible for performing spay and neuter surgeries on shelter and owned animals in existing clinic. The ratio of surgery to clinical medicine is 60% to 40%. This person oversees disease control of the kennel facilities and the health and welfare of the animals in our care, clinic facilities and in surgical and treatment record maintenance.
The Veterinarian also provides emergency care, medical assessments and treatment plans for shelter animals. This person may be on call during evening and weekend periods. In addition, the individual will need to be able to establish, review, revise and update protocols and procedures for the shelter based on changes in the field or shelter environment. They also promote animal health and welfare, spaying and neutering and vaccinations within the community. Must have good veterinary medical and surgical skills and have the versatility and ability to adapt to new and growing clinic and community based services. A Valid New Hampshire Veterinarian’s license and current D.E.A. Certificate are required along with a valid New Hampshire driver’s license and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
