Are you passionate about working to end overpopulation through spay/neuter? Join the team at Nobody’s Cats non-profit spay/neuter clinic for outdoor cats as a licensed veterinary technician.
Responsibilities include daily care of surgical patients and assisting doctors with surgical and anesthetic procedures. Our ideal candidate will have experience with high volume spay/neuter and a desire to work in a non-profit setting to accomplish the larger mission of ending overpopulation.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assess patients as they are checked in and report health concerns to attending veterinarian
Assist veterinarians in surgery as needed
Calculate and administer anesthesia to all surgical patients per anesthetic protocol
Accurately maintain all necessary anesthesia and patient records, and drug logs
Prepare cats for surgery and administer post-operative care
Administer treatments as directed
Provide in person and telephone client service
Actively promote spay and neuter, and educate clients on responsible animal care
Actively support associate staff and volunteers; promote the development of skills related to the advancement of our goals and mission.
Stay current in knowledge of emergency drugs and protocols
Other tasks as they may arise or assigned
Assist in medical supply inventory as needed
Job Type: Part-time Tues, Thurs, Sat (8-5)
