We are looking for a part-time experienced associate veterinarian to join our small animal practice. Interest in exotics is a plus but not required. Our team is well-established and supported by RVTs and experienced VAs. Balboa Pet Hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care services: emergency, preventive, diagnostic, surgical and dental services, as well as pet acupuncture and boarding. We are a generously sized hospital that has been in practice with current owner since 1966 and AAHA accredited for 30 years. Quality of life is a priority to all of us. Appointment hours 8-6 Monday- Friday & 8-5 Saturdays.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
D.V.M. or V.M.D licensed in California
D.E.A licensed in California
Current National Veterinary Accreditation
At least 1 to 2 years experience as a D.V.M. in a practice is required. We have a collaborative team of veterinarians.
Working knowledge of Cornerstone Practice Management software a plus.
Significant continuing education achievements, beyond licensing requirements.
Embrace teamwork as essential for a quality practice; ability to work as a team member as well as a doctor.
Working knowledge of and interest in the business aspect of a veterinary practice.
Willingness to maintain a timely appointment schedule and when necessary, stay after hours or work extra hours.
Interest in marketing and growth of the practice.
Display tact and diplomacy with staff members and clients.
Perform basic computer skills.
Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Walks or stands for extended periods of time; frequently works in a bent position.
Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches, and contagious diseases.
