Are you a seasoned emergency veterinarian or criticalist/DACVECC looking for a stimulating new career path?
The Cornell University Hospital for Animals invites applications from talented, energetic small animal veterinarians with strong communication skills for our staff Emergency Veterinarian role. The successful applicant will provide quality emergent care to client-owned animals in a dynamic teaching hospital. We successfully added two evening Emergency Staff Veterinarians to our team two years ago and are looking to continue to evolve the role to provide care for emergent cases presenting overnight.
- Work with our strong team of seven ECC-boarded specialists, eight ECC residents, ten rotating interns, and twelve licensed veterinary technicians dedicated to the emergency practice.
- Join our welcoming group of board-certified veterinarians representing all specialties at Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY.
- Provide exceptional care to dogs and cats in need of both primary and referral emergency case management.

What are the qualifications?
- DVM/VMD with a rotating internship or at least 1 year of emergency experience. Applicants with a minimum of 2 years companion animal practice experience with less than one year of emergency experience will also be considered.
- Thrive in the fast-paced clinical environment of a busy ER.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and local referring veterinarians.
- Interested in a team approach to high-quality emergency medicine.
- Have a growth mindset while providing leadership and experience.
- Excited about hands-on teaching of DVM students in our academic, multi-specialty practice.
