| Job Summary The Instructional Veterinary Technician I, under direct supervision, is a 9-month position that participates in the instruction of undergraduate-level courses to meet the needs of the Veterinary Technology Program. This includes hands-on laboratory responsibilities and classroom-lecture instruction. May assist veterinary staff with medical management of program animals. Courses are assigned based on the employee's interest and area of expertise. Ample opportunity for CE and unique research experiences are available. Requirements
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 | 
| Education – Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology or related field Experience – Three years of related experience Knowledge of – Common veterinary practices and procedures in a working veterinary practice setting, laboratory and didactic teaching methods Ability to – Multitask, communicate and cooperate well with others. Advanced computing skills. Licensing / Professional Certification – Registration, licensure or certification as a veterinary technician as a result of successful completion of the VTNE, ability to become licensed in the state of Texas within 6 months Physical Requirements – Lift up to #50, work in outdoor environments, including those which temperatures can be >90°F |
