Description
Animal Hospital of Millville is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team.At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our warm-hearted environment means you'll be able to empathize and demonstrate real care for client's pets and provide utmost care. As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.
Our close-knit team absolutely loves animals! We have a bright facility in the center of the city with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We even have three birds that have permanent residences with us! Our staff's wellbeing is our very top priority, which is why we offer flexible scheduling and a one-hour break in the middle of the day to catch up on paperwork and enjoy an uninterrupted lunch. Veterinary Assistant
Animal Hospital of Millville Millville, NJ
$18.00-$23.00 an hour
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Taking patient histories, assisting doctors throughout an appointment, filling medications, entering charges, and reviewing any medications or take-home instructions with the client
Anesthetic monitoring for procedures
Venipuncture for in-house diagnostics and catheter placement
Performing diagnostic tests competently and efficiently
Educating clients on preventive care and having a strong knowledge of the products we stock
Customer service in all forms - interacting face to face, occasionally answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, following up with clients post-visit, and educating clients and empowering them to provide the best care to their pets (Experience with Cornerstone a plus)
Animal restraint, basic grooming, proper handling, and interactions

REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent required
1+ years veterinary assistant or technician experience
Knowledge of patient care and assessments, including restraint, anesthetic monitoring, vaccine administration, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and radiology
Excellent communication skills, positive, and empathetic
Comfortable with dogs/cats of all sizes and temperaments
Comfortable and skilled in communicating with both clients and coworkers
Detail-oriented yet able to work quickly and efficiently
Must be flexible and able to adjust the schedule based on the needs of the hospital
Possesses core principle values of integrity, honesty, and commitment
