At Guide Dogs for the Blind, the health and wellbeing of our dogs are central to everything we do. As the Veterinary Practice Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operations of our Oregon veterinary clinic, ensuring our dogs receive exceptional care throughout their puppy, training, and working lives as Guide Dogs, K9 Buddies, and Breeders. You’ll manage a talented veterinary team, coordinate clinic operations, and serve as a key liaison between departments to align veterinary care with our broader mission. This is a full-time, campus-based leadership role.
What you’ll do:
Oversee daily operations of the Oregon veterinary clinic to keep schedules running smoothly and ensure every dog receives top-quality care
Lead, coach, and support the veterinary team, overseeing hiring, training, performance management, and professional development
Foster a positive, communicative, and accountable team culture that reflects organizational values and a collaborative work environment
Manage budgets, supplies, and equipment to keep operations efficient and compliant
Keep accurate records in Salesforce, track vaccines and medical data, and maintain safety and health standards
Work with leadership and other departments to align veterinary services with organizational goals
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, as well as internal protocols. Act as the clinic’s OSHA coordinator and Controlled Drug Team member

The qualifications you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
5 years of experience managing veterinary professionals; experience in a complex organizational setting preferred
Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as strong organizational and project management skills
Comfortable handling large breed dogs (up to 90 lbs.) and safely transferring dogs up to 40 lbs., with assistance as needed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with veterinary software and databases; Salesforce experience preferred

Requirements
