Location: Kentucky (Hospital Based + Local Travel)

Equine Athlete Veterinary Services is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible equine internist to join our growing, multi-state practice, anchored by our advanced diagnostic and surgical hospital in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
About Equine Athlete Veterinary Services
Equine Athlete Veterinary Services is an exclusively equine practice focused on the care and performance of the equine athlete at all stages of life. Our team provides comprehensive veterinary services ranging from sports medicine and preventative care to advanced diagnostics and surgical support.
Our practice model is unique, combining a state-of-the-art hospital with a strong ambulatory and consulting presence. Our veterinarians travel nationally to provide care at farms and competitions, with established service areas across Kentucky, Texas, Michigan, and the West Coast.
The Kentucky division includes a fully equipped equine hospital and surgery center, supported by an experienced team and a strong regional client base.
The Opportunity
This position offers a dynamic mix of referral-level internal medicine, hospital-based case management, and ambulatory/field work. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in-hospital and in the field, and values variety in caseload and environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse internal medicine caseload (hospitalized, outpatient and farm)
- Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics (endoscopy, ultrasound, gastroscopy, etc.)
- Provide consultation services for referring veterinarians and performance horse clients
- Collaborate closely with ambulatory and sports medicine teams
- Contribute to continued growth of internal medicine services within the practice

Requirements
Qualifications:
- ACVIM (LAIM) board-certified or board-eligible
- Strong diagnostic and case management skills
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in a hospital setting
- Interest in performance horse medicine and client communication
