Job DescriptionManaging Veterinarian
Oley Valley Animal Clinic | Oley, PA
Love practicing medicine but ready to have a bigger impact?
Oley Valley Animal Clinic is looking for a Managing Veterinarian to join our team and help lead the next chapter of our well-established small animal practice.
Serving dogs and cats throughout Oley Valley and the surrounding communities, we're proud to combine quality medicine with the comfortable, personal feel of a community practice. We also work closely with three local rescue organizations, giving our team the opportunity to make an even bigger impact on animals throughout the area.
A Hospital Built for Great Medicine
Our hospital was remodeled just two years ago and offers a bright, modern space designed to help our team work efficiently and provide excellent patient care.
You'll have access to:
- Seven state-of-the-art exam rooms
- A spacious, dedicated surgical suite
- A modern dentistry suite
- Well-equipped treatment areas
- The ability to perform a wide variety of soft-tissue surgical procedures
- Same-day sick appointments for patients who need more immediate care
- A dedicated and experienced support team committed to helping our doctors provide exceptional patient care
Appointments are generally scheduled for 30 minutes, whether sick or wellness, allowing our doctors to maintain a steady flow while still building relationships with clients and their pets.
The Opportunity
As our Managing Veterinarian, you won't be trading your stethoscope for a desk. You'll remain an active part of patient care while also serving as a trusted medical leader for the hospital.
You'll partner closely with our Hospital Manager to:
- Provide medical leadership and maintain high standards of patient care
- Mentor and support veterinarians and team members
- Help establish medical protocols and best practices
- Encourage collaboration, communication, and continued learning
- Ensure veterinary standards, regulations, and licensing requirements are met
- Partner on hospital operations, budgeting, and opportunities for growth
- Help shape the future of the practice and build a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work
We're also open to mentoring, making this a great opportunity for a leader who enjoys teaching, coaching, and helping other veterinary professionals grow.
A Schedule With Flexibility
We know there's no one-size-fits-all veterinary schedule. Our doctors have flexibility to build a schedule that works for them, including 8- or 10-hour days, with some doctors choosing three longer days per week.
Hospital hours are:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-7:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Sunday: Closed
Doctors begin appointments at 9:00 AM, and Saturday coverage is every other Saturday.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or successful completion of the ECFVG certification program
- Active veterinary license
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate medicine
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Someone who enjoys mentoring, developing, and supporting others
- A collaborative mindset and desire to help a hospital and its people grow
Why Oley Valley & NVA?
- Base salary of $130,000-$175,000, depending on experience
- Production-based bonuses
- Sign-on, retention, and relocation bonuses available
- Flexible scheduling and work-life balance
