Position Overview
Dentistry and Oral Surgery for Animals Sacrament is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician Practice.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in challenging situations, facilitating problem-solving and collaboration.
- Keep OSHA logs and quarterly questionnaires updated, knowing protocols for inspections.
- Oversee anesthetic logs, ensuring proper storage and ordering.
- Supervise team members, ensuring quality and compliance for both technicians and front office staff.
- Monitor job performance through regular employee reviews.
- Ensure personnel receive adequate training for their roles.
- Delegate tasks to staff to meet operational objectives.
- Manage daily operations and the surgical schedule flow.
- Maintain an effective inventory system, including controlled substances.
- Audit patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
- Calculate medication dosages accurately.
- Obtain blood samples via cephalic, saphenous, or jugular methods.
- Process and submit lab work, both in-house and externally.
- Clean, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies.
- Place IV catheters and assist with monitoring surgical equipment.
- Manage anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery.
- Perform dental procedures, including ultrasonic scaling and polishing, with a solid understanding of oral health.
- Conduct full-mouth intraoral radiographs using digital DR and CR systems.
- Calmly and safely handle animals before, during, and after procedures.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Preferred: 2 years of experience previous leadership in a veterinary office.
- Required: Active state technician license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds multiple times daily.
- Capacity to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and climb for prolonged periods.
- Proficient in restraining pets of all sizes on the floor and exam table.
- Strong manual dexterity for grasping, holding, and manipulating objects.
- Excellent vision abilities, including depth perception and the capacity to adjust focus.
- Awareness of potential exposure to anesthetic gases, with proper protective measures.
- Knowledge of zoonotic disease risks.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay range from $30-$38 hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
