Hourly Pay Rate: $24.00–$34.50/hour + overnight differential (based on experience, technical skill level, and hospital leveling)
Schedule: Full-time and Part-time available
Location: Lakewood, Colorado
Evolution Veterinary Specialists (EVS) is hiring an experienced and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Emergency & Critical Care (ER/ICU) team on overnights. About the Role
As an ER/ICU Registered Veterinary Technician, you will support the care of emergent and critically ill patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is ideal for a technician who is confident, adaptable, and excited to grow their emergency and critical care skills while working alongside experienced ER doctors and board-certified specialists.
What You’ll Do
- Triage and assist in stabilizing emergency patients
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized ER and ICU patients
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including ongoing treatments and assessments
- Place and maintain IV catheters, urinary catheters, feeding tubes, and other supportive devices as indicated
- Assist with emergency and critical care procedures, including:
- Oxygen therapy (including high-flow oxygen support)
- Thoracocentesis, abdominocentesis
- Wound/laceration management
- Sedation support
- Blood product administration
- Sample collection and diagnostics
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and efficiently
- Monitor anesthesia and sedation for emergency procedures as needed
- Communicate clearly with doctors and team members to support high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Support a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
Schedule
- Overnight shift
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Typical schedules may include:
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Weekend and holiday may apply
Compensation
$24.00–$34.50/hour
Overnight differential applies
Compensation is based on experience, technical skill level, and hospital leveling criteria
Requirements
Required:
- Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
- Active registration with DORA
- Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency and critical care setting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
Preferred:
- 1+ year of experience as an RVT, ideally in ER, ICU, or specialty medicine
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (AS/BS/BA)
- BLS and/or ALS CPR certification

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is an active, hands-on role in a fast-paced clinical setting. Team members in this position must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Kneel, crouch, bend, and stoop regularly
- Work around biological hazards and cleaning agents
- Operate medical and office equipment
- Communicate effectively in a busy and sometimes noisy hospital environment
