Veterinarian Opportunity – Associate Veterinarian

Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital – Pleasanton, CA

Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital is seeking a veterinarian to\njoin our team. We are looking to hire an Associate Veterinarian wanting to grow\ninto a Managing Veterinarian. To help with this transition, we have systems in\nplace to partner with doctors ready to grow beyond the associate role with\nstructured systems, mentorship, and leadership training. The goal is to make\nthe transition successful and sustainable!

The Opportunity

This role is intentionally flexible. We recognize that not\nevery great leader is ready to step fully into a Medical Director role on day\none.

Associate DVM Focus

\n Practice\n high-quality small animal medicine in a collaborative environment\n Build\n lasting client relationships\n Work\n alongside an experienced, supportive team\n Maintain\n flexibility and work-life balance\n Access\n mentorship, CE, and professional development\n\n\n\n\n

Medical Director Focus (If Applicable)

\n Provide\n clinical leadership and medical direction for the hospital\n Lead\n & support associate veterinarians\n Partner\n with hospital and regional leadership on operations and growth\n Help\n shape medical protocols, standards of care, and team development\n Maintain\n a meaningful clinical caseload alongside leadership responsibilities\n

Previous leadership experience is valued but not\nrequired—NVA provides training and ongoing support.

Compensation & Benefits

\n Competitive\n base salary $150,000-$210,000 (adjusted based on role and experience)\n Production\n ranging between 22-23% and/or leadership incentive opportunities\n Sign-on\n and relocation assistance available\n Health,\n dental, and vision insurance\n 401(k)\n with employer match\n Generous\n PTO and CE allowance\n Paid\n licensure, professional dues, and VIN membership\n Pet\n care discounts and wellness resources\n\n\n\n\n

Qualifications

\n DVM or\n equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school\n Licensed\n or eligible for licensure in California\n Passion\n for high-quality medicine and teamwork\n Interest\n in professional growth—clinically and/or as a leader\n\n\n\n\n
