Have you ever thought about living where other people vacation? Do you like hot springs and skiing? Is the outdoor, rural lifestyle calling you? We are currently looking to hire Veterinary Assistants to join our team at Elk Park Animal Hospital in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.- Salary: $19.00 - 22.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
- Schedule: Hospital is open Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm, Saturday 1/2 days. Sunday closed and major holidays. Some on-call hours to support emergencies.

Elk Park Animal Hospital is a long-standing mixed animal hospital with two full-time doctors and deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Utilizing both Western and Eastern modalities, Dr. Thompson and his team provide care for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, llamas, alpacas, rabbits, pet birds, and chickens. With a deeply loyal clientele, this hospital is always busy and utilizes all associates to the highest level of their skills.

Who You Are:
If you are that veterinary assistant who is looking for an exciting, no day ever the same, fast-paced, fun, energetic veterinary hospital then we look forward to hearing from you!
- 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
- Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
- Anesthesia monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
- Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
