Full-Time opportunity in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Schedule: 4 days a week

Route 66 is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Cardiologist to establish and grow a Cardiology service within an established 24/7 emergency hospital. With a strong reputation in emergency medicine and a growing specialty team, this is an opportunity to shape a new service while building on an established referral network throughout New Mexico and the surrounding region.
You'll have the autonomy to help shape your service, including equipment, workflows, scheduling, and areas of clinical focus, while collaborating with Emergency Medicine and a growing network of specialty colleagues. In your day-to-day, you will:
• Establish and develop Route 66's Cardiology service.
• Build a diverse cardiology caseload within an established 24/7 emergency hospital.
• Perform advanced cardiac diagnostics and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Help shape equipment purchases, workflows, scheduling, and future service development.
• Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and other specialty services as they continue to grow.
• Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians throughout Albuquerque and the surrounding region.
• Participate in case consultation, mentorship, continuing education, and professional development through Ethos Veterinary Health.
• Explore opportunities to participate in clinical research through the Ethos network.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Cardiology or Residency Trained in Cardiology.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with a passion for advancing cardiac care.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for developing a specialty service.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
