A Little About Us and Our Privately Owned, Multi-Specialty Hospital
ACCESS (Advanced Critical Care, Emergency and Specialty Services) was founded in 2005 when Dr. Rich Mills, a board-certified criticalist, set out to bring specialty veterinary care to Los Angeles. As demand grew, so did ACCESS – expanding to the San Fernando Valley, South Bay, and eventually, Pasadena and Palm Beach County (FL) in 2021. While the first three hospitals are now part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, ACCESS – Pasadena and ACCESS – Palm Beach County remain proudly independent and privately owned by veterinarians. This means decisions are made in our hospitals, not in a boardroom, allowing us to stay flexible, focused, and deeply connected to the pets, pet owners, and primary care veterinarians we serve every day.

Because we believe the best outcomes come from truly collaborative medicine, you would be working closely with other specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology and Neurology, in addition to our experienced team of ER doctors. Our friendly, collaborative team prioritizes patient care above all else. Our team culture is built on open communication, cross-disciplinary learning, and mutual respect. You’ll have the freedom to grow your way, while never feeling alone.
We have two wonderful and talented Internal Medicine Specialists currently on staff, so we are looking for a doctor who wants to join a collaborative and friendly team. If you are finishing up your residency there is plenty of support for you to learn and grow, and if you are already an experienced specialist, we are happy to support your life-long learning journey if you have special areas of focus. We have a consistent and busy caseload with a great clientele, so this is a perfect time to join!
We’ll Give You the Tools and People to Get the Job Done
Our 25,000 sq. ft. hospital is equipped with advanced technology, including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, hemoperfusion, a cloud-based EMR, multiple cardiac and abdominal ultrasounds, and a comprehensive in-house lab. We have a thoughtfully designed, custom-built Internal Medicine department with its own reception area, exam rooms, dedicated treatment area, ultrasound and endoscopy room. In addition, you have a large fully set up interventional radiology suite so you will be very well set up from the start with a space that is functional, beautifully designed and well equipped.

Our dedicated team of technicians, animal care assistants, doctor’s assistants, customer service representatives, and managers, share your commitment to exceptional patient and client care. With a customized technician training program and dedicated trainers, we value every team member and support their growth, fostering a supportive environment where continuous learning thrives.

We believe a strong compensation and benefits package is the foundation for great work and a balanced life. We offer a competitive salary of $250,000-300,000 with productive bonuses in addition. Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
Active California Veterinary Board License or the ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
Active DEA license or DEA-Eligible
Board Certified Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist or Residency-Trained Veterinarian
