A Little About Us and Our Privately Owned, Multi-Specialty Hospital
ACCESS (Advanced Critical Care, Emergency and Specialty Services) was founded in 2005 when Dr. Rich Mills, a board-certified criticalist, set out to bring specialty veterinary care to Los Angeles. As demand grew, so did ACCESS – expanding to the San Fernando Valley, South Bay, and eventually, Pasadena and Palm Beach County (FL) in 2021. While the first three hospitals are now part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, ACCESS – Pasadena and ACCESS – Palm Beach County remain proudly independent and privately owned by veterinarians. This means decisions are made in our hospitals, not in a boardroom, allowing us to stay flexible, focused, and deeply connected to the pets, pet owners, and primary care veterinarians we serve every day.

Because we believe the best outcomes come from truly collaborative medicine, you would be working closely with other specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Cardiology, Radiology and Neurology, in addition to our experienced team of ER Doctors, residents and interns. Our friendly, collaborative team prioritizes patient care above all else, and they are a genuinely friendly group that makes you feel right at home as you walk through the door.

Our 21,000 sq. ft. hospital is equipped with advanced technology, including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, a cloud-based EMR, cardiac and abdominal ultrasounds, and a comprehensive in-house lab. But it’s our people who truly make the difference.

We are looking for someone who will not only be part of the Medical Oncology department, but that will work with us to develop this new department and team. It’s an exciting time to start up a new service, and you would be very well supported in everything you need from technician training, inventory and equipment set up. We have the caseload, a wonderful team and strong management support, so we just need the right person to head up the service and grow with us! Requirements
DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure.
Board Certification in Medical Oncology (DACVIM-Oncology) or residency-trained in Medical Oncology.
Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
