Veterinary Assistant Shift/Schedule: Overnight Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center Largo, FL
About You You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by supporting the veterinary team in providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work will range from hands-on patient care and facilitating outpatient treatments to assisting with laboratory tasks and supporting services including admitting and discharging patients.

Your Experience & Skills • 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred • Veterinary assistant experience or training preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

You’re Willing and Able To • Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients • Assist the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow • Assist with procedures and treatments as directed by veterinarians and credentialed technicians • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and provide general guidance on services, medications, and Thrive Membership options • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs • Support team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment

Some benefits are available only to full-time team members working 30+ hours per week and may be subject to waiting periods or length of service requirements.
Compensation Compensation negotiable based on experience, with an hourly pay rate starting at $19-$23/hour. The actual rate offered will consider a range of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
